Upstream Project Update - November 2016

PILOT
 
The pilot testing continues with MLS Listings, RMLS Portland, West Penn MLS, North Texas Real Estate Information Service (NTREIS) and NorthstarMLS.   Broker site visits continue giving UI demos, customizing training needs, identifying broker business rules and qualifying vendors.  As a reminder, here is the list of pilot brokers:

We are working closely with our pilot brokers and have added many vendors which are integrating and testing.

​DEVELOPMENT

 
Sprint 10 was completed in November focusing on preparations for a live demonstration at NAR Annual.  The interface, implementation of RMLS enumerations and multiple vendor integrations were shown to approximately 1000 people in five separate committee meetings.  A sample of the presentation can be found here: http://bit.ly/2gN6BvS 
 
Sprint 11 is well underway and has a targeted completion of December 12th with a release on the 21st.    Sprint 11 addresses numerous data and UI items but most importantly, an API update allowing data to be returned in a flat, RETS-like format using RESO 1.5 Data Dictionary names.  This highly anticipated update accelerates integration with some of our pilot MLS teams.
 
STAFFING
 
No headcount changes or additions have been made.  We are running lean!.
 
AGREEMENTS
 
The Agreements Work Group completed updates to the Upstream/MLS NDA after negotiations with NAR counsel.  These updates further protect MLS business logic IP, and a template can be found here: http://bit.ly/2gNCQuZ  
 
GOVERNANCE
 
•    No new governance items since our last update.   The next BOM meeting is scheduled for the week of Dec 13th.
 
NOTE FROM THE CEO
 
We’ve been very excited to work with all our MLS partners.   We are working with CMLS to assemble a comprehensive list of MLS executives we can invite to our MLS Advisory Council which kicks off monthly meetings in January.   Additionally, we are starting our monthly “Town Hall” webinars in January.  This open forum will allow anyone to have a voice, ask questions and hear directly from me what’s happening with Upstream.  We will post the link to sign up for the webinar next week.

Five committee presentations, almost a thousand participants and a live demo at the Top 75 Residential Firms meeting became the traction proving, Howitzer-shot heard in and out of the convention halls.  Upstream is far more than a concept.  It’s far more than a platform.  It’s become a broker-centric movement with a working code base and vendors lining up around the corner.
