Upstream Project Update - January 2017

PILOT
 
Upstream continued on-site Discovery meetings with both MLS and Brokerage Pilot participants. The Pilot team completed the final Phase 1  Discovery meetings:
  • January 10, 2017 – West Penn MLS, Pittsburgh, PA
  • January 16, 2017 - NTREIS,     Dallas/Fort Worth, TX        

Additionally, the team continued Discovery meetings in the seven selected Phase II Pilot markets:
  • Detroit, Michigan
    • Realcomp MLS - Scheduling on-site business rules assessment meetings for Feb
    • Real Estate One-Scheduling on-site Discovery meetings.
  • Austin, Texas
    • Austin Board of REALTORS® - Confirmation of participation.
    • Keller Williams International - Scheduling on-site Discovery meetings
    • Tenura Holdings/Private Label Realty - updating and completing Broker Assessment Template before Discovery meetings.
  • Richmond, Virginia
    • Long and Foster on site Discovery meeting
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
    • Pending discussions with Latter and Blum.
  • Phoenix, Arizona
    • Competed joint update call with leadership from Russ Lyons International Realty (RSLIR) and Arizona Regional MLS.
    • ARMLS received Upstream API documentation and is in the process of scheduling on-site business rules assessments.
    • Scheduling on-site Discovery meetings with RSLIR, along with outreach to BHHS Arizona Properties
  • Memphis, Tennessee
    • Scheduling discussions with Crye Leike Realty and Memphis Area Association of REALTORS®.
  • Miami, Florida
    • Broker Discovery meetings completed.
    • Miami MLS on hold, pending additional progress in Phase I markets.
 

DEVELOPMENT
 
The Product team completed the release of Upstream Sprint 12.  The following key features were released to the Upstream sandbox environment for pilot program developers to consume:
 
  • Listing management user interface - cumulative enhancements
    UI enhancements completed since December 2016 were promoted to the sandbox, including cleanup work in login, search, user dashboard, and listing entry sections and fields.  Listing entry sections were re-organized for pilot organizations through a metadata update that clarified the placement of certain listing fields into the correct sections, and refinements to the sequence in which fields are presented within sections.  Enhancements were also made to the triggering and display of validation notifications.

  • New API endpoints
    APIs were added to support extended distribution readiness notification based on field completion and business rule validation, MLS business rule management, and search.

  • Photo resources
    Support for photo copyrights, seller photo opt-out, photo provider type, and updates to the photo description fields were added.

  • HOA support
     A new data collection for HOAs was created with support for a variety of HOA characteristics, including association name, phone, fees, fee frequency, services covered under the fees, and association amenities.

  • OData structured endpoint for listings resource
    Support for OData querying of the “flat” listings resource previously released at the request of several pilot MLSs was delivered to bring this resource in line with the RESO Web API specification.  The RPR team has requested sample queries from the MLSs that preferred this approach to ensure that the new endpoint mirrors their current implementations.

  • New pilot site rules collection
    RPR’s business analysis team began data collection and mapping for two new pilot sites: ARMLS and Realcomp II.  Onsite visits have been confirmed for these two participants in late February and early March, respectively.

No headcount changes or additions.  We are running lean!.
 
AGREEMENTS
 
The Agreements Work Group is working on the final agreements (non-beta).
 
GOVERNANCE
 
No new Governance items
 
NOTE FROM THE CEO
 
I’m excited about this last release as it provides a transport format that better aligns to RESO standards and is far easier to consume for our pilot participants.   We can now resume discussions with MLS vendors such as Core Logic and FBS as this new format will reduce development time.

Additionally, we have made great progress with our MLS Advisory Group and are working on many of their ideas to facilitate adoption.

Finally, just like the stake in the ground, I placed when committed to doing a live demo at NAR Annual last November, I am doing it again.   I’m committing to show full integration from a brokerage to an MLS and their vendors in a “production-like” environment.   You heard (okay, read) it here first.
